Sarecta Fire Department respond to multiple fires overnight

From Sarecta Fire Department Facebook

Tonight was a busy night for Sarecta Fire. First, at around 8:40 we were dispatched with Forestry for a woods fire off E. Wards Bridge Rd.

Members worked to slow the progression of fire until forestry arrived on scene. Plow was deployed to cut a fire line and contain the fire. Once fire was contained and cleared by forestry, units returned to station.

Upon arrival of Brush back at station at around 11:30, we were dispatched to a second call for a commercial vehicle striking a light pole with same on fire. After first unit was responding the call type was changed to a commercial vehicle fire endangering a commercial structure (pictured below).

Once call type was changed, Albertson and Pink Hill mutual aid was dispatched to assist. First incoming unit arrived and found a fully involved commercial vehicle. Crews worked to protect the commercial structure and then extinguish the fire after power was cut to power lines.

Once fire was extinguished, mutual aid was released. Upon completion of investigation, all Sarecta units cleared a scene and returned to station around 2:15.

We appreciate all Albertson and Pink Hill personnel and apparatus that responded to assist with the vehicle fire as well as Duplin County EMS Medic 5.
