Business Spotlight: Mo'Joe Coffee and Cupcakes

In 2020, Ramona Casteen and her daughter Heather Parker started Mo’Joe Coffee and Cupcakes as a coffee concession trailer. Casteen’s husband, Greg Casteen, bought a truck bed from the 1980s, a Dodge pickup for her birthday and along with the help of her son-in-law, they turned it into a trailer that they could set up to sell coffee and cupcakes.

“We started out by setting up the trailer on weekends and at events,” said Casteen. “It was a huge success! We soon developed a loyal following.”

Mo’Joe Coffee and Cupcakes offers craft coffees, smoothies, blends, teas and energy drinks along with homemade cupcakes, cake pops, and a variety of keto, paleo, and sugar free options. With a large variety of syrups, their goal is to offer something to everyone, no matter what their dietary or health restrictions may be.

“We knew we would love to have a shop one day and when the opportunity came up, we opened the shop in Wallace,” said Casteen. Mo’Joe Coffee and Cupcakes is located at 110 W Main St, Wallace, NC.

Casteen was born and raised in Wallace and lived there most of her life. She attends Calvary Wallace Church with her husband, who works at Townsend’s Auto Parts in Wallace.

“Some of our favorite things are customers coming into the shop and saying ‘I’ll have my regular’,” said Casteen. “We have met so many new people and have developed relationships with them that we would not have had the opportunity to do without our shop.”

Mo’Joe Coffee and Cupcakes is currently open Wednesday through Friday, 7:00 am through 4:00 pm and Saturday, 8:00 am through 3:00 pm. On Monday June 6, 2022, they will start opening six days a week. Monday through Friday, 7:00 am through 4:00 pm and Saturday, 8:00 am through 3:00 pm.

“The support of our community has allowed us to be open more days! We are very excited about our extended days open,” said Casteen.
