Former Beulaville Elementary School teacher charged with indecent liberties

James Faullkner of Duplin County has been charged with felony indecent liberties with a child and felony indecent liberties student. He will be in court on January 14, 2022.

Statement from Duplin County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Austin Obasohan: 

Duplin County Schools is cooperating fully with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation of Mr. James Faulkner, former teacher at Beulaville Elementary School. The school system holds all employees to high ethical and professional standards as the safety of all students and staff is our priority. Mr. Faulkner began working in Duplin County Schools on November 16, 2001 and has no prior disciplinary record during his employment. As soon as we learned of the allegation on November 19, 2021, he was immediately suspended with pay pending investigation. Mr. Faulkner resigned from his position on December 31, 2021.
