Governor Cooper signs six bills into law

Raleigh: Governor Roy Cooper signed the following bills into law:

  • House Bill 624: North Carolina Regulatory Sandbox Act.

    An act to enact the North Carolina Financial and insurance Regulatory Sandbox Act and to establish the North Carolina Innovation Council.

  • House Bill 761: Police Vehicle and Equipment Protection Act.

    An act to increase the penalties for breaking and entering into certain law enforcement vehicles and for the theft of certain law enforcement equipment, to make technical corrections to S.L. 2021-118, and to make a technical correction to S.L. 2021-123

  • House Bill 854: Land Use Clarifications.

    An act to provide reforms to local government zoning authority to increase housing opportunities and to make various changes and clarifications o the zoning statutes.

  • Senate Bill 85: Allow Vision Service Plans.

    An act to allow vision service plans and to make technical and conforming changes to Chapter 58 of the General Statutes.

  • Senate Bill 695: Various Education Changes.

    An act to make various changes to laws affecting principal licensure, salary installments, reporting requirements, and cash management requirements for public school units.

  • Senate Bill 191: The No Patient Left Alone Act.

    An act providing patient visitation rights not be impacted during declared disasters and emergencies and directing the Department of Health and Human Services to impose a civil penalty for any violation of those rights.
