James Sprunt Community College celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

On October 13th, James Sprunt Community College celebrated a fun, educational, and resourceful day on campus.

JSCC started their Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration serving coffee and tres leches cake. The staff and students were dressed to show their spirit.

Shakeena White, Vice President of Student Services said, “We are all a big family here at James Sprunt Community College and celebrating the diversity of our student population just really helps us to understand our cultures and how, in many ways, we share a lot of similarities.”

Representatives from ECU and UNC Pembroke attended the event to help students with their transfer information. JSCC partners with great Universities that help students have a smoother transition from our campus to theirs.

The day was concluded with with the very first Library Lunch and Learn: Makerspace Edition. This is a light and fun tutorial of tools in the Makerspace that are free to use any time for students.

Meagan Turner, College Recruiter, demonstrated how to design and print stickers with the Cricut machine, housed in the Makerspace. The Library will continue to host a different tutorial every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
