Multiple agencies aid in Duplin County Health and Rehabilitation Center structure damage

At 4:54 PM, Kenansville Fire Department was dispatched to Kenansville Health and Rehabilitation Center for an activated fire alarm. Units arrived on scene and discovered a tree had fallen on the structure, resulting in structural and water damage. Multiple agencies are on scene attempting to remove the tree and assess the extent of damage. Agencies include Kenansville Fire Department, Beulaville Fire Department, Rose Hill Fire Department, Sarecta Fire Department, Duplin County EMS, Duke Energy, and Duplin County Fire and Emergency Management. No residents or staff of the facility were injured during the incident and no evacuations are taking place as of now.  

Due to the large presence of emergency crews and vehicles, officials are requesting that members of  the public avoid the area and allow responders to resolve the incident. Officials would also like to thank the community for their kind words and support thus far.
