Surplus Property Sale - Teachey, NC

Duplin County is offering for sale a surplus property located at 648 Cornwallis Rd, Teachey, NC (County Parcel No. 10-E005), consisting of a brick building on 14.09 acres, more or less, and will accept offers to purchase pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160A-269. The County reserves the right to reject any offer and all offers are subject to upset bid within 10 days after notice that the offer has been accepted.

Prospective buyers may submit offers to Elizabeth Stalls, County Planner, by mail or in person at 209 Seminary Street, Kenansville, NC 28349. It is the County’s intent to accept an offer to purchase no later than 5:00 pm on October 29, 2021. All offers must include the offer amount, along with the offeror’s name, phone number, and mailing address in order to be considered.

Upon acceptance of an offer to purchase, the County will require a 5% deposit of the offered amount and will thereafter publish notice of the proposed sale. Within ten (10) days after the notice of proposed sale is published, any person may raise the offer by not less than ten percent (10%) of the first one thousand dollars ($1,000) offered and five percent (5%) of the remainder. When an upset bid is submitted, five percent (5%) of the new offer must be deposited with the Clerk who shall readvertise the offer. This procedure shall be repeated until no further qualifying offers are received, at which time the County may accept the highest offer.

The property is sold AS IS. Duplin County reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted. The buyer will be responsible for all costs associated with closing.

An open house will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm to allow prospective buyers an opportunity to view the property.
