U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that USDA is making available up to $215 million in grants and other support to expand meat and poultry processing options, strengthen the food supply chain, and create jobs and economic opportunities in rural areas.
“The COVID-19 pandemic upended the lives and livelihoods of millions of rural American people,” Torres Small said. “In the face of this challenge, I am proud of what USDA has accomplished under this Administration’s leadership to minimize damage and be there for rural America as we all Build Back Better and stronger.”
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced USDA is deploying $100 million under the new Food Supply Chain Guaranteed Loan Program to make available nearly $1 billion in loan guarantees; these loan guarantees will back private investment in processing and food supply infrastructure that will strengthen the food supply chain for the American people.
