USDA-RD State Director participates in Mobile Medical Units arrival ceremony
FAISON, N.C., May 25, 2022 – USDA Rural Development State Director Reginald Speight participated in a Mobile Medical Unit Arrival Ceremony at Goshen Medical Center today.
“I can’t imagine a better partnership between USDA rural development and Goshen,” said Janet Bradbury, field representative for Senator Richard Burr.
Rural Development is investing $706 thousand in loans and grants to purchase eight medical mobile units for Goshen Medical Center, Inc.
“I appreciate the value of what you do. You are the primary care for rural areas. They know about telemedicine, but they still want to see you face to face,” said Speight.
The mobile units will operate in the field and will provide services such as screening for symptoms, rapid testing, health education, and prevention.
“Rural Development is excited to participate in this unique investment to enhance the health of rural residents,” said Speight. “Goshen Medical Center is thinking outside the box to make the most to outfit these mobile medical units. I am looking forward to hearing about the benefits of these trailers across Duplin and the surrounding areas.”
“Anything we typically do in our office, we can do in the mobile unit. It’s equipped,” said the staff of Goshen.
