Warsaw Police Department conduct search warrants for illegal gaming

On the afternoon of March 1st, 2022, members of the Warsaw Police Department, Duplin County  Sheriff’s Office, and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement executed search warrants on two  addresses inside the Town of Warsaw. This was connected to a several months long investigation into  illegal gambling which was conducted by the Warsaw Police Department Criminal Investigations Division  aided by NC ALE in response to multiple citizen complaints. Both search warrants were executed without  incident and both businesses fully complied with the warrants. Illegal gaming systems were located  inside of each establishment. The gaming systems were illegal in the State of North Carolina even prior  to the release of recent case law. The addresses in question are 115 N Railroad St. (Warsaw Phone  Accessories) and 109 W College St. (Drive Thru Tobacco). One subject was arrested inside of 109 W  College St. on unrelated outstanding warrants. Charges in these cases are forthcoming and expected in  the coming days.

The Warsaw Police Department would like to thank the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, Sheriff  Blake Wallace, and the members of the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
