Warsaw to host Veteran's Sizzling Salute Steak Cook Off

On September 10, 2022, a cook-off that benefits the 102nd Veteran’s Day Celebration and Parade will be held at 309 Memorial Drive in Warsaw. The celebration and parade is widely known as the oldest Veteran’s Day Celebration in America.

Veteran’s Sizzling Salute Steak Cook Off welcomes the public to be a part of the day. Russ Varnell and the Too Country Band, featuring Classic Music of the 70s, 80s and 90s, will play from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Cook off event starts at 8:00 am with load in, and selecting the steaks. Rules and guidelines, followed by the first turn in at noon.  

It is recommended that everyone bring personal chairs, blankets or towels to enjoy a great afternoon of pure country music. Register for a chance to win a Weber Charcoal Grill, including Charcoal, Grilling Tools and Coal Chimney, valued at over $300.00.  

There is a World Championship Qualifier Contest, where over 6,000 dollars to be awarded in cash and prizes. Door Prizes will also given away during the afternoon. 

The event is hosted by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and The Veteran’s Parade Committee, and sponsored by various businesses from Warsaw and the surrounding towns.
