“Burney’s of Wallace provides delicious treats that bring joy to the community,” said Mayor Jason Wells of Wallace. “Our goal is to provide fresh sweet treats to the community every day and bring joy to special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, or a family day out while shopping downtown Wallace.”

Burney’s strives to provide a place for families to come in and grab lunch, or a sweet treat, and enjoy nice sunny days sitting outside and catching up with old friends as the local community patronages the establishment.

Burney’s of Wallace takes great pride in being part of the Wallace community. “Our goal is to bring high quality baked goods and a warm family friendly atmosphere where folks can come in, slow down, and take a moment to catch up with friends and neighbors,” said Wells.

The Franchise is owned and operated by four owners. Jason Wells, the current mayor of Wallace, felt it was important to bring a local bakery to a revitalized downtown. Besides Mayor, Jason works full time for Abbott Labs as a Regional Sales Director. His wife Tabatha Wells is a 2nd Grade Teacher at Wallace Elementary and can often be found at the store on Saturdays serving up sweet treats to some of her favorite students. Kevin Smith is an Assistant Superintendent for Duplin County Schools and initially came up with the idea to bring Burney’s to downtown Wallace given the popularity of the product in the area.  Kevin’s wife Hope Smith is no stranger to the Entrepreneurial Spirit as she currently owns and operates Art of Hope just around the corner from Burney’s on Main St. and Art of Hope in downtown Clinton.

“Every time someone enters our door, our friendly staff will greet them with a smile.  You may enter as a guest, but our hope is that you will leave as a friend,” said Wells.

Burney’s is at 105 NW Railroad Street in Wallace. Their hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 am through 5:30 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am through 3:00 pm. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
