Suspect arrested in Ace Hardware breaking and entering

On February 21, 2022 at approximately 4:45 am, deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lanier and Smith’s Ace Hardware in Chinquapin in reference to a Breaking and Entering that had just occurred.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies and detectives began collecting information and evidence relating to this incident. With the assistance of the public and diligence of the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, evidence was collected to identify the truck used in the Breaking and Entering, as well as the individual responsible for operating the vehicle and being the responsible individual of the Breaking and Entering.
On March 1, 2022 warrants were issued on Culley Fountain for Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Damage to Property.
On March 3, 2022 Culley Fountain was arrested and served with his active warrants. Culley Fountain was issued a $55,000 secured bond and was placed in the Duplin County Jail.
