Wallace Police Department updates dispatch center hours

From Wallace Police Department Facebook

We’ve started to roll out some significant changes to WPD. Our dispatch center is no longer 24 hours. Instead, the 911 center in Kenansville will be taking some of our calls and dispatching our officers. Our dispatch center will continue to be open Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. The 285-2126 number will continue to be active 24/7. After 5pm and on weekends it will automatically forward to the 911 center in Kenansville.

This also means that the lobby of town hall will not remain open 24/7.

This decision was not one that came easily but was soley based on finances and looking toward future growth. We look forward to working with the 911 center in Kenansville and maintaining a professional level of service for Wallace residents, business owners, and visitors.
